Pearson is once again honored to be participating in ACEIA’s annual conference in Seville this coming Saturday, November 11. This year’s event, titled People First, promises to be yet another great opportunity for teachers and other professionals in the English language teaching environment to come together and share ideas, observations and best practices. More information on the conference, as well as the programme, can be found here on their website.
Pearson will be sponsoring two speakers for the conference.
Brian Engquist. The agony of choice!
11:30-12:30 Room Tarifa 1st floor
During a stressful exam a bit of certainty can be a true comfort. In Part 1 of their First writing paper our students know they will get a essay. Part 2, however, requires our students to make a choice. Should they develop a favourite genre? Does it all depend on the topic in question? This session will look at what we teachers can do to make sure our students are as prepared as possible to tackle Part 2 successfully.
Brian Engquist is Teacher Training Department Manager for Pearson.

16:15-17:15, Room Nervión, 1st floor
How many different assessment tools are you using in your classes? Do you use them just to measure the quality of your pupils´ output to get an overall grade? Or would you like to identify areas to provide them with the feedback on their knowledge, skills, attitudes, and production that they need to improve future performance and learning outcomes? By way of practical examples we we’ll fill up our Teacher´s Toolbox with alternative assessment methods recommended for formative assessment.
